Don't blame us
I appreciated your article about the role gay marriage may have played in the recent presidential election [Poll in the Eye, December 2004].
It's important to remember that whatever
the gay community was doing, whatever our agenda might have been, some on the right and left would be quick to blame us for Bush's apparent victory.
Marriage may be a silly priority while the Bill of Rights is being disassembled, but it should not be the scapegoat for the Democrats' loss.

Answering old ads
You have a most excellent magazine that I enjoy reading.
I have an old issue (from 1999!) with an intriguing personal ad. I don't suppose I can still write to that person?
How long do you forward letters to guys who placed MaleBox ads years ago?
And another question: someone replied to my ad but failed to include their address (or phone number); if I write to you with their name, can you forward it to them?

You can send a letter addressed to any MaleBox ad, no matter how old; if we have a good address for the former advertiser, we'll forward your letter. We do not, however, track who responds to your ad, so we cannot help you if respondents fail to include their contact
information. Alas.
Hustler article?
I notice that one of the polls on your website asks readers if they've ever paid for sex (hired an escort), and that almost half those replying said "yes."
I often enjoyed paid-for sex, and wonder if you might consider an article about hiring escorts?
There are some good rules to follow if you want to have the best time when hiring an escort, as well as some tips for making sure you don't get ripped off.

It has been many years since we've done a piece on sex-for-hire, so your suggestion is appreciated. Keep your eyes open-- perhaps we'll revisit the suject soon. Indeed, if we lived in a sensible society, Medicaid would pay for sex, thereby both helping the elderly and combatting unemployment amongst the young!
