Paraphiliamania
Just wanted to let you know I thought the statue article ["Statuary Love," April 1998] was one of the funniest things I've read in ages. In these days of strange proclivities it took me awhile to realize it was all a joke. (Or
was it?!)

Black and Gay in Europe
I am a BGM and I'm planning a trip this summer to Europe. I will visit London, Paris, Amsterdam, Berlin, and Milan. I was wondering if you had any information about clubs, baths, and places of interests
that are patroned by blacks. I notice there are few blacks in the pictures and articles in your magazine. I have only a short time in each city and I wouldn't want to waste my time at places where I would enjoy.

Thanks for your note. Our web site (www.guidemag.com) has detailed travel features for all the cities you are visiting except Milan. The travel features for the cities you are visiting don't discuss which establishments are
most popular with black people; some readers make use of the Malebox Personals (also available at www.guidemag.com) to contact guys in Europe, both to make new friends and to get info on various local scenes. Have a
great trip!

Big Dick: Ticket to Freedom?
I marvel at your magazine-- I have just picked it up at The Bronx here in Amsterdam. My compliments for being so matter of fact and direct to the point in your editorial content.
I wonder why so many inmates [in MaleBox Personals] think that the "hung" ticket will get them anywhere else but back to where they are imprisoned now. Inmates, like alcoholics and most drug addicts,
are addicted, maybe not out of any fault of their own. However, good luck to their enterprise and to the stupid partners who in desperation fall for such a proposition.
Powertool [the video] comes to mind....

Offended by Sex
Is yours simply a "sex around the world" guide? or do you have other information about places gay men might want to travel to (for example, the Canary Islands)?
I'm quite offended you think gay men are only interested in sex-- I might have to share this observation.

"Sex Around the World" might indeed make an excellent subtitle, but we do cover other topics, as well. We have considered an article on the Canary Islands, in part because we hear that there is a thriving gay sex scene there.
Please do share your accurate observations about the nature of our publication-- we always welcome more readers!
A Very Gay Summer in Europe
We enjoy your informative and well-written magazine. We imagine you are planning to do a story on our city before this summer's Gay Games [August 1-8; info at www.gaygames. nl]. Were you also
aware that Europe's biggest annual gay/lesbian event "EuroPride" has changed its dates and is now July 18-26 so that people from outside Europe can more easily combine a visit to both Stockholm for EuroPride and Amsterdam
for the Gay Games. Maybe it would be a good idea to cover both cities in one issue?

Enjoy this month's feature on Amsterdam! Most of us from the United States would love to have three weeks of vacation, but, alas, we're still struggling for universal health insurance; for those lucky enough to have
better vacation benefits, the Stockholm-Amsterdam package you suggests sounds terrific!
