Wet Palms: Season One, Episodes 4-6

Produced by Mark Hovanec. Edited and directed by Matthew Moore. Written by Jack Shamama and Michael Stabile. Videography by Mr. Pam. Music by Fave Rave and Rocco McKay. How to order

In the fourth, fifth, and sixth episodes of Jet Set's porno soap spoof Wet Palms, writers Jack Shamama and Michael Stabile expand their web of blackmail, relationship issues, "energy supplements," avarice, treachery, fashion, amnesia, real estate, sibling rivalry, inheritance feuds, gay publishing, cocaine, identity confusion, recreational sex, conciliatory sex, coercive sex, fun sex, nasty sex, hotel management, and underwear.

At slightly over 70 minutes, these segments are longer than the three preceding episodes, with more fully developed sexual sequences. Each volume has two sex scenes; the ones that work best serve the plot. Troubled couple Brad Benton and Jason Ridge have a hot encounter in the wake of mutual infidelities. Less conventionally, blackmailer Jason Adonis exacts rough sexual payment from an officially straight ex-porn model (Rod Barry). Finally, evil, twisted Simon Jett (Michael Soldier), whose empire includes Jett Setter magazine and various pharmaceuticals, turns ditsy hotel manager Brady Littleton (Bret Wolfe), who's addicted to Jett-produced pep pills, into his sex slave.

Most continuing characters return, though some viewers will regret the loss of Cody Cash, whose goofy, unabashedly sexual presence gave the first three episodes an extra spark. The superb Gabriel Knight remains a pivotal character, but he's mostly sidelined here except for a steamy photo shoot for Bubble Underwear. There are welcome additions to the cast, however. Jason Adonis can now almost act and better than almost handle gay sex. Zak Spears does his patented hot mean bastard number as Simon Jett's sinister sibling J.P. Gus Mattox appears as Randall Jett, an estranged brother who holds the key to the disputed ownership of Wet Palms, the West Hollywood hostelry that anchors the action. (It's actually the San Vicente Inn.)

Like the previous and forthcoming episodes, Wet Palms: Season One, Episodes 4-6 is being sold as a three-volume boxed set. Extras include heaping portions of behind-the-scenes footage, and a worthwhile bonus sex scene featuring Mattox and Anthony Shaw.
