Big Easy Update
I enjoyed your web site. I just want to mention that the MidTown Spa in New Orleans has closed down since at least May 1998. Please update your page accordingly.

Thanks for the update; sometimes business realities make year-long ad contracts out-of-date, but rest assured that travel articles are based on very recent, in-person visits.
Praise from "Conservative" Texan
I get my copies of The Guide compliments of Oilcan Harry's in Austin. I'm a conservative kind of guy, but I'm consistently impressed with the wit and intelligence of your writers, Blanche Poubelle in
particular. David Savard's "Prison Sex: Facts and Fallacies" [September 1998] was terrifying and fascinating. "Dirty Dishes" was scary and funny reading. And your cartoon "Dykes to Really Watch Out For" speaks volumes about
the Clinton administration, which seems closer to a police state than Bush's.

Web Suggestions
I enjoy your magazine a lot. But your web site [www.guidemag.com] seems rather incomplete and out-of-date. For example your porn flick reviews are dated 1996! Aren't there any saunas in NYC? Oh well,
I appreciate the effort.
May I make a suggestion for your magazine? Include maps of all the cities you feature in your articles. Include phone numbers
and prices (even if approximate) for hotels.
I appreciate the editorials in your magazine. You are one of the only ones I know who are willing to speak out against the stupidity and oppression of sex laws, censorship, etc. For this alone you deserve a
Nobel Prize!

We are now featuring more porn reviews than ever in the print magazine, and are planning to have them available on the web in the coming months. Out listings are paid, so remind businesses not listed with us that
they're missing a chance to really stand out! We do include many maps in the print magazine-- new this month, Los Angeles!-- and add new cities as we build an ad base there. Our policy is to include hotel phone numbers
where possible, and our articles on cities and destinations do try to include price info; your much appreciated feedback will be passed along to our travel editors.
Web Updates
I picked up a copy of your May issue in Paris recently and noticed a number of errors in the feature locations and in the maps. Whilst I understand that publishing deadlines mean that errors may occur, why
not add a section in the magazine or on your web site called "Open and Shut" which has a list of new places and closures.
I maintain a directory on the web called the Grey Gay Guide which lists and rates places for mature men and their admirers worldwide. See http://ourworld.compuserve.com/homepages/pewit/greygay1.htm

Thanks for the detailed info that accompanied your letter. We do often list businesses as "closed" on our map pages as a way to alert former and would-be patrons. Of course, sometimes closure news reaches us after
deadline, and I'm sure you can appreciate that we want to always make sure the "closure" is not just a rumor, so absent unambiguous confirmation we keep the map listing. Our maps aren't meant to be complete, but
prioritize advertisers venues.
Your site seems to include much useful info, especially for older guys and their (as the phraseology goes)
admirers-- happy to provide a link at our site.
A Fan in Berlin
I'm a big fan of The Guide-- you're doing a good thing! It's always so much fun reading it. My friends like it, too.
