The actor who aspires to be a director is a cliché in Hollywood. Apparently, it's becoming one in West Hollywood, too. More and more former and current porn performers are working behind the cameras
as everything from production assistants to writers to directors. It's good to see some career ladders opening up in an industry once known for treating its employees like Kleenex-- completely disposable. While Blade
Thompson is truly missed in front of the cameras, he is trying to make his mark calling the shots as other boys do the dirty. Unfortunately, his most recent venture,
Room Mated, shows that he has not yet become as talented at filming
as he is at fucking.
Thompson has assembled a decent cast including super cute Seth Black, gorgeous Alex Stone, and Max Grand who is pound for delicious pound one of the sexiest guys in the business. An old favorite,
Alex Carrington, also makes an appearance. Carrington has traded in his boyish charm for a rougher, more handsome appeal, and he still has what it takes. Despite the numerous qualities of the cast,
Room Mated fails to generate much heat. Never has the word "generic" leapt so quickly to mind while watch beautiful men suck and fuck. The dialogue and set-ups for the sex scenes are so trite that they might pass for parody, but this video is not
nearly clever enough to be anything as cunning as parody.
