In Section 4B of Memorial Hospital, steely-eyed behavioral scientist Fay Dubois (in a non-sexual role) presides over an experimental project targeting sex offenders. "My fellow scientists and I have been intensely studying the brain waves of society's most deviant minds," she tells new assistant Drew Peters. "The courts have sent us their most troubled sexual deviants." The subjects are placed in suspended animation and hooked up to a gizmo that enables researchers to "monitor their every sexual deviant thought" as they fantasize or relive their crimes in their heads. The goal is to "delete" propensities for deviance.

None of this makes sense, but neither does contemporary treatment of sex offenders anywhere in America. Raw is presumably set in the future, where everything is verboten; the all-consensual whoopee we're shown is just lightly transgressive. Jack Ryan, busted in a restroom with hustler Sergio Anthony, is supposed to have "a problem with prostitution." It's unclear what Sex Offender Number Two (Kent Larson) was nabbed for-- incest? adultery?-- but he seems to have been the bridegroom of the scientist herself, who discovered him tangled naked with his brother (Kyle Lewis) and hers (Jonathan West) in their honeymoon hotel on their wedding day.

This wacked-out Doug Jeffries production is justified by four blistering sex scenes, three of which are three-ways. Characters are pigeonholed in categories of "deviance" that aren't really dramatized, but the models are well matched and energetic. In the third sequence, exhibitionist Tag Adams is worked over by a pair of Latino tops (Rick Gonzales and Antonio Montez) who come all over his face, then piss on him. In the finale, blond cupcake Peters, double-crossed by his boss, gets dropped into a dungeon where Vin Nolan and Ruben D'Angelo dog-fuck him, make him squat on a massive dildo, then fist him. All the models, especially Adams, are in top form.
