At the launch of a condom promotion campaign, officials with the Beijing Municipal Health Bureau announced that all three-star and higher hotels in the city
have been ordered to stock condoms in every guest room. Officials said they were taking the step because sexual transmission is now the principal way HIV is
spreading among the population. In addition, free or paid condoms will be available by year's end in karaoke and night clubs, spas, and other entertainment venues.
