Rammer
By Giacomo Tramontagna

Rammer
Rating: 2 Stars
Written and directed by John Bruno. Videography by John Simms. Edited by Joe Wilson. Music by J.D. Slater. Starring Jake Dakota, Ricky Martinez, Todd Maxwell, Brad Star, Scott Swann, Zachary Pierce, Tim Towers, Danger, Jake Nashwood, Austin Edwards, Nick Horn, and Davidian.
How to order

John Bruno's Rammer is a lewd emanation from the universe it shares with EC Comics and the Saw franchise. The title entity (Davidian), who hides behind an evil-toothed Killer Klown mask, facilitates revenge for a price. "I am an equalizer," says Rammer, "giving power back to those who have been victimized, showing humility to their aggressors." Whatever that means. Actually, he's just a big sickie.

We're shown four examples of Rammer's handiwork. Nasty boss Nick Horn is abducted, fitted with an electric collar, and turned over to abused employee Zackary Pierce, whose fey readings of lines like "Eat my feet, you dirty asshole!" will leave some fans convulsed with laughter. Racist bruiser Todd Maxwell is poisoned, then made to earn the antidote by bottoming for black guys Rick Martinez and Danger. Then Jake Dakota, a selfish top, is kidnapped and suspended in a sling to be fucked by Scott Swann, his fed-up boyfriend, in a relatively vanilla interlude.

Finally, the four "biggest homophobes in the city" are rounded up and forced to have sex with one another and, ultimately, with Rammer, who discards his evil-clown persona and emerges as a hulking, leather-masked dungeon master. Sometimes all this nastiness gets fairly hot; sometimes it just stays nasty. The action is accompanied by J.D. Slater's familiar, tingly hellfire music, which has lost the power to upgrade second-rate material.

Coercive sexual situations have been a more or less harmless component of porn from time immemorial, but how many viewers really get off on make-believe rape juiced up with electroshock, poison, and nerve gas? (Jett Blakk's recent Bonesaw used similar devices to similarly antierotic effect.) As for scenarios where homophobes are forced to have gay sex and like it, aren't they just a step away from hetero fantasies of raping lesbians to turn them straight?
