How to order
The skillfully produced Now and Forever makes a few good points about gay ageism, but its plot, which has something to do with "transference of a physical body through a portal in time," gets distractingly silly. A first-rate
cast, however, keeps distractions to a minimum. The story gets off to a promising start when a mysterious old man (porn producer/director Dan Cross) appears at a party in Travis Wade's back yard, presents him with a pocket
watch, says, "Now and forever," and leaves. Wade sets out to learn the man's identity, and follows him back to the 1940s, when they were lovers.
Derek Kent the director triumphs over Derek Kent the writer in his handling of actors and in the four sex scenes, especially the two involving Travis Wade. (To be fair, Kent shows more skill as a scenarist than most
perpetrators of scripts thrown into production by Studio 2000.) Wade's couplings with Steve Cassidy, as his present-day partner, and Troy Michaels, as his lost love, are full of fire and conviction. This is one of those videos where the sex
scene the script keeps building toward, a romantic encounter between Wade and Michaels, does top everything that came before it. Wade and Michaels put something extra into the sex; it's called acting.
