Oklahoma City will be, briefly, the epicenter of the homosexual arts October 8 to 10, during "Outart '99," the inaugural gay and lesbian arts festival of
Oklahoma. "This is the first time a gay and lesbian arts festival has been presented in Oklahoma or the surrounding states," says organizer Tony Francis. Festivities get under
way Friday October 8, with "a buffet dinner aptly named 'Black Tie Dinner and a Movie.'" The film portion of the festival will be held at the Regal Windsor Hills
Theaters (NW 23rd and Meridian). A total of ten movies will be shown on two screens. Also featured is a musicale in which "the musicians and singers will honor such
company as Walt Whitman, Elton John, and Benjamin Britten."
