How to order
In 1997, this intelligently written, non-exploitive semi-classic-- called
Tiger's Brooklyn Tails in its original VHS incarnation-- raised the bar for blatino gay adult video, and all but invented New York homo hip-hop porn. The sex is worked into a simple narrative about Tiger Tyson's
gradual acceptance of his attraction to men, most specifically his best friend Malice. The handsome cast can act a little; bright-eyed, golden-skinned Tiger Tyson is a born performer. Everyone seems into the sex, which is often rather hot. The ultimate encounter between Tyson and
Malice is deftly set up and steamily romantic.
Enrique Cruz, who directed and co-wrote the script under the pseudonym "Crave," has revamped
Brooklyn Tails slightly for its new "director's cut" DVD edition, which includes over an hour of behind-the-scenes footage from this and other productions. His New York is an
edgy, gritty erotic wonderland. "Everywhere in the city," says Tyson, "it's sex, sex sex. On streets, in the subway, post office, everywhere I go.... It brings the freak out in me, I guess you could say."
