The 1999 Adam Gay Video Directory described Tyson Cane as "extremely handsome [with] a sensational bod and a dick that will bring tears to your eyes." It's an apt description for the young man who has graced the covers of Unzipped and Black Inches magazines.

The Directory continues: "Tyson hasn't made many movies yet. We hope this doesn't mean he's on the verge of retirement."

No, sirs, he's not retiring. In some ways, he's only just begun. Specifically, he's just begun his own production company: Tyson Cane Videos. The company's debut release is titled Tyson's Big Dream.

Growing up, Cane's time was divided among his family's homes in Alabama, New York and Florida. "My father liked to move around a lot," says Cane. "My father was a cop, but he got money from his father, who was a famous saxophone player."

On-the-go from a young age, Cane notes, "It actually prepared me for when I went into the military because they make you pack up and move around a lot."

However, Cane admits he's a bad packer. "I'm one of those people who over-packs for everything. I bring like five suitcases for two days."

When Cane was stationed in Korea for a year, he made sure to pack a certain item: a gay porno video. "I figured if I'm not going to have dick for a whole year, I got to jerk off to something."

Well, as it turned out, he didn't really need the videotape. "It was easier for me to get dick in the military than it is for me now!" says Cane.

"In the military, they don't really care what you do as long as you don't offend them. One guy said to me once, 'You can do whatever the fuck you want, just don't force your homosexuality on me, and I won't push my heterosexuality on you.' We ended up being the coolest of friends."

But not all of the enlistee's experiences were all that "cool." Cane left the military with an honorable discharge in 1993 when his higher-ups discovered the hidden gay porno video among his possessions.

Following his stint in the military, Cane settled in Florida and decided to pursue work in the adult video biz. The first step was to prepare a portfolio of photos to send out to the studios. "I purposely hired a straight fashion photographer to take my photos. He didn't look at these nude shots as nasty, which is what most people in porno do. They think the nastier the better. I think that's a mistake. I think you have to have a little bit of class in it somehow."

Next, Cane compiled a list of the top companies that he planned to target. The first on his list was Kristen Bjorn Productions. "There are no upscale black or Latino adult movies except for those by Kristen Bjorn," states Cane. "What I like about Kristen is that he doesn't care if you're purple. If you'll make him money, he'll use you in his movies."

One by one, Cane reached his goals and he was able to check-off the high-profile companies on his wish list. In addition to appearing in Kristen Bjorn Productions' The Anchor Hotel, he also starred in Falcon Studios' The Freshmen, Catalina Video's The Perfect Gift, and All Worlds Video's Link 2 Link, Chocolate Dessert and In the Mix.

"One of my main goals was to model my company after everything I liked about the other companies I've worked for," explains Cane. "I had Tyson Cane Videos in my head from the first project I worked on to the last one."

Cane remembers some sage advice given to him from a friend. "He said, 'Look, you used to work your butt off for the military, you worked your ass for Uncle Sam. Why don't you work your ass off for yourself?'"
