How to order
"This video is just for all the Billy Brandt fans out
there," writes the star (or one of his publicists) in a blurb
that appears on the box. "I wanted give something back to show I
appreciate all their support." What he gives
back is basically narcissistic fluff. In recent on-camera interviews
publicizing Philip St. John's
Getting It at the Rave, the 23-year-old dandelion-blond from
Flint, Michigan seems unaffected, alert, and rather likable. But in
Totally Billy, his self-conscious mugging takes patience to watch.
The camera follows Brandt through a couple of drawn-out photo
shoots and a personal appearance at an Indianapolis bar. We see him
negotiating the terms of the Indiana gig, wriggling through a dance
routine, and
signing autographs. We learn that he smokes cigarettes, that his soft
drink of choice is the ultra-caffeinated Mountain Dew, and that
without his glasses, he's practically blind. There's very little sex.
Brandt masturbates teasingly
toward the end of the second hour, and fucks his Rubensesque sometime
girlfriend, whose face we never see, on two occasions.
In vehicles like Falcon's Absolute
Arid, Billy Brandt established himself as one of the treasures of
gay porn, so it's especially disturbing to learn that
after Totally Billy was shot, he survived an automobile accident with
serious injuries including broken vertebrae. One reason to purchase
this flawed piece of self-promotion is that Brandt, who lacks health
insurance, has incurred medical expenses that could leave him
bankrupt.
