Superstar Ken Ryker, a model who has been in and out of gay and bisexual porn (The Backroom, Big River) for nearly a decade, has now turned producer/director. Ken Ryker Films' initial release, Ryker's Web, is set in a funky bar that Ryker is supposed to own, and in the star's adjoining apartment. The production has its peculiarities. At one point, hulking bodybuilder Billy Herrington shows up looking like an animated action figure, and starts sipping beer, sucking on a cigarette, and ogling shirtless young bartender Rocky. When Ryker, huge and gorgeous, heads down to the bar after watching Herrington on a closed-circuit monitor, you might expect a King Kong-meets-Godzilla sex scene. But Herrington vanishes after his brief, pointless, non-sexual cameo. Ryker doesn't take screen credit for his direction; it's anyone's guess what transpired off-camera, or what thought processes, if any, went into Ryker's Web.

The best sex in this five-episode mixed bag is a three-way involving Tino Lopez, Rhett O'Hara, and Rocky. An inexpressive Ryker appears in three scenes. He lets others service him, then fucks them mercilessly. Now into his thirties, Ryker has lost the choirboy freshness that combined with his tall, spectacularly crafted body to seal his charisma. His handsome face has hardened into a passionless mask. At six feet four and 230 pounds, however, he commands attention. When his 11.5-inch cock slams into the posteriors of Drew Larson, Anthony Holloway, and Trent Atkins, the bottoms register pain that seems unfeigned. "Just don't put it in too much!" Holloway spontaneously squeals as Ryker penetrates him. Your personal taste will dictate whether this sort of thing singes your loins or tells you to hit fast-forward.
