With this modest release whose promo description as a "sexual thriller" is at best optimistic, director Matt Sterling returns to gay adult video after a long hiatus. The competence
Sterling brought to A Matter of Size
(1983) and Inch by Inch (1985) remains in evidence, but
Feast Your Eyes achieves lift-off only in the final portion of this four-part tribute to sex
between strangers. Although the top-and-bottom teaming of Trey Rexx with Jim Slade brings aesthetic heat to the opening dungeon fantasy, neither model is expressive enough to
draw most viewers into the action. Their scene is also marred by a squirrel-cage musical score that outpaces the sex. This sequence is followed by a couple of routine pick-up vignettes, one of
which featuring Hans Ebson, who gets screen credit here as "Hans Eberon" is supposed to be on a porn tape Jason Hawke slides into his VCR. Then, in the aftermath of a gas-pump
flirtation, Hawke receives a visit from Brad "Check-under-your-hood?" Benton. As these two slip out of their shirts and kiss their way upstairs to Hawke's bedroom,
Feast Your Eyes comes to life and awakens hope that this is a warm-up exercise for better Matt Sterling productions to come.
