the West Was Hung never reaches the fever pitch of
its predecessor, but it's beautifully mounted, and so are some of the actors, especially those lucky enough to be mounted by Axel Garret. Under the spell of porn wizard Chi Chi LaRue's unique dirty magic, everyone seems
to have fun. Jack Reilly and Tina Tyler have a nicely demented segment as a preacher and his spinster disciple. The production's occasional missteps include the pasted-on Snidely Whiplash mustache that upstages Alex
Wilcox's first-rate sexual performance.
