Living on the Rim
By Giacomo Tramontagna

Living on the Rim
Rating: 2 Stars
Produced by Dan Cross. Edited and directed by Rafael. Written by Chris Steele. Photographed by Rafael, Ed Maxxx, and Buzz. Music by J.D. Slater. Starring Brad Benton, Braeden Casey, Jon Erik, Cameron Fox, Jason Hawke, Niko, Marco Paris, Trey Rexx, Sledge Sawyer, Anthony Shaw, Justin Wells, Barrett Long, and Richard Well.
How to order

The moment his mother drives off, Cameron Fox drops his drawers. "Man," he sighs, paddling nude in the family pool, "my parents are finally gone. I'm gonna fuck my brains out!" Toward this end, he summons friends from the farthest reaches of San Diego. The six who show up for the first shift have a short, tantalizing group session in the pool, during which as many as three underwater blowjobs are caught in the same subaqueous shot. But just when the orgy begins to heat up, the pool-party breaks into smaller units better attuned to the limited skills of Rafael, the director.

Fox has a mildly pungent one-on-one scene with the eminently fuckable Jason Hawke. Brad Benton, Anthony Shaw, and Marco Paris supply the best loop, creating a carnival of sex that begins on a terrace and ends in an adjoining bedroom; Paris sets the tone by hungrily shoving his face into Benton's furry crack. There's also a routine encounter between Braeden Casey and rangy newcomer Richard Well; a solo for swarthy pool guy Niko; and finally-- when a second shift arrives-- a disappointing six-man orgy. The concluding scene gets off to a promising start, with models rimming one another in relays, but soon becomes a tedious boink for three side-by-side pairs.

The technical aspects of Living on the Rim aren't always up to All Worlds Video's high standards. Thanks to slipshod mixing, the talented J.D. Slater's music is marred by the muddiness of the soundtrack. The camerawork by three videographers ranges from good to poor. Chris Steele gets script credit for supplying what would, in a bookless Broadway musical, be called "lead-ins and crossovers."
