Video 10 has been recycling product recently, cranking out compilation videos unified by star, director, or sexual bent. This one, showcasing
Adult Video News hall-of-famer Jim Bentley,
uses footage from five 1995-'96 releases. It's worth watching.
Hardly anything in On the Make measures up to Bentley's early work for Falcon, but each scene is a diverting (if sometimes crudely produced) no-frills sex loop. Bentley, a
clear-eyed blond with a patrician brow and a swimmer's physique, is paired in a sex-club encounter with leather daddy Austin Black and, more effectively, in an office romp with muscular Trent
Reed. Bentley is especially seductive-- and generous to his fellow performers-- in sequences involving multiple partners. In threesomes and foursomes, he seems to have a catalytic effect,
insuring that everyone stays turned on. His performances aren't star turns, they're displays of easy, unspoiled charisma. The final segment, excerpted from
The Big Showoff (1995), opens with a surreal shot of two naked redheads, Rusty Samuels and Brian Shawn, standing on their hands with their legs spread. When the star walks into the frame and starts rimming them in turn,
the handstand posture seems an perfectly sensible response to Jim Bentley's availability.
