Bone Alone
By Giacomo Tramontagna

Under cover of darkness, two men with flashlights slip over a chain-link fence, jimmy open a sliding door, and enter a house. Their objective has nothing to do with the occupants' valuables. Once inside, they plop themselves down on the living room couch, kiss passionately, shuck their clothes, and indulge in happy reciprocal cock sucking. This pair, gay porn counterparts of Home Alone's Joe Pesci and Daniel Stern, breaks into houses specifically to have sex; this is House Number Thirteen. Meanwhile, not far away in what is to be House Fourteen, dim blond porn-addicted Kevin (Sean Carrera) is watching a video and whacking off.

The next day, Kevin's roommate and a friend, baking by the pool, make plans to slip away on vacation and ditch Kevin. They have uninteresting sex within sight of a large, inflatable Shamu-the-Killer-Whale pool toy, then pack and sneak off. What bugs them about Kevin isn't clear: they are, like him, unprepossessingly cute twenty-somethings with the instincts of chipmunks in heat and intellects to match. It might have been more fun, and made more of a comment on California brain death, if Kevin were just left behind by mistake, like MacCauley Culkin in the film Bone Alone tries clunkily to parody. Be that as it may, Kevin is abandoned in a home that's ripe for invasion.

The burglars arrive, start to have sex, and are discovered by a bug-eyed, disbelieving Kevin. After a demented chase through the house and around the sun deck, the burglars have their way with him while he has his way with the burglars. When one of Kevin's friends-- seen earlier in a mini-orgy of his own-- arrives bearing flowers and a banana, he's incorporated into the action. This sequence does have its moments, but unfortunately none of the sex scenes is very well shaped, choreographed, edited, or shot. There are too many jump cuts, and someone's head or leg is often in the way of major points of interest. It would have been a plus if the credits could have matched the names of the largely unfamiliar cast with their faces; several are good enough to make you want to seek them out in something better.
