Csaba Borbély and his troupe of predominantly Eastern European models, fresh from a two-part romp in the South of France (Wild in St. Tropez, Muscle Beach), present the opening installment of a Greek cycle hardly anyone is going to confuse with the Oresteia. The sex scenes in this sumptuous, numskull exercise are stitched into a plot involving illegal traffic in antiquities-- or, as it turns out, fake antiquities. (Since the objets d'art shown here look like big Hellenic Crackerjack prizes, you wonder how anyone could ever be fooled.) When they're not having sex or indulging in rascally black-market business maneuvers, the nine cast members spend lots of time standing still, staring emptily into the distance like droids whose batteries are running down, and modeling colorful short-sleeved shirts.

The tourist-wracked but still magical Aegean island of Santorini is a sexual playground whose ambiance has warmed mainstream films, such as the 1982 schlock classic Summer Lovers, and gay porn features, notably Falcon's Out of Athens. Here its snow-white villas and dark volcanic sands provide a backdrop for four sex scenes that mostly move from pose to pose without passion, imagination, or fun. There's a three-way followed by four successive duos. A sickly-looking dildo turns up from time to time. The best episode, the only one where the models' mutual attraction seems unfeigned, occurs between handsome, hirsute Luciano Endino and Renato Bellagio who, if they're not really Italian, should be. It helps that they kiss for a while before plunging into sucking and fucking. Endino is so turned on he practically eats Bellagio's face.
