Prick Tease
By Giacomo Tramontagna

Prick Tease
Rating: 2 Stars
Edited and directed by Michael Zen. Videography by Charles Stevens. Music by Rock Hard. Starring Mark Dalton, Brett DiMineo, Court Logan, Robert Harvey, Cameron Fox, Jason Sizemore, Gauge, Danny Lopez, and Kyle Richards.
How to order

In the opening shot, Australian model Robert Harvey peers into the camera and says, without snickering, "Someone once told me, 'When it comes to sex, it's all about tease. Prick tease.'" This overblown promo for Texas-Aryan muscle rack Mark Dalton proves that someone lied. Dalton's a tease, all right, but that doesn't make his narcissism sexy, or his canned strip act fun to watch. At Pacific Sun Entertainment, no one even seems to realize that "prick tease"-- meaning a manipulative egoist who baits people sexually, then refuses sex-- is a negative term. Once again, in his second appearance in a Pacific Sun video (the first was the mediocre Ranch Hand Muscle), Dalton neither has sex with anyone else nor appears in a shot with anyone else. Does his contract exempt him from having to interact on camera with fags?

Directed by Michael Zen without a hint of his usual mischievous intelligence, Prick Tease pretends that Dalton-worshippers are legion, and that the mere thought of this blond 23-year-old's die-cut torso makes everyone pant with lust. Dalton's image hovers over every scene. Jason Sizemore masturbates to Dalton's softcore picture on his laptop screen; Court Logan, who works at a club where Dalton performs, has sex with Cameron Fox in front of an obtrusive Dalton poster; Harvey, as an aspiring model, and Gauge, as a producer, have a fling inspired by Dalton's beefcake layouts. In the concluding segment, more Dalton posters incite a three-way in an alley.

In the fourth loop, where Dalton actually appears, there are, fleetingly, two of him. Mark's nonexistent twin brother, David (Mark in a red sweater), serves as audience while Mark runs through his repertoire of writhes and wriggles. But once David is introduced, he's forgotten. Reaction shots never tell us what he thinks as he watches Mark dance, lose his clothes, and eke out a dollop of spooge. Mark Dalton may hold some interest for porn fans who fetishize the inaccessible, but that particular bent depends on the desirability of what cannot be had. Dalton's publicists portray Dalton sympathetically-- he's said to be a wholesome lad who likes apple pie, enjoys dancing shirtless, and is good to his parents-- but they're packaging him as a dim, impenetrable Stepford model who upstages worthier performers while making a cynical grab for gay dollars.
