Marine Sergeant Sledge Sawyer drives his men hard, but he's so fetching in his dress blues that for many recruits, he's a turn-on. When Sergeant Sledge attempts to teach Austin Brooks a ceremonial drawn-sword salute, for example, Corporal Brooks just can't keep his mind on the exercise. Elsewhere, on and off base, in shower rooms and motels, Sergeant Sledge's men relieve the tensions of training under his iron rule. The level of acting in all five segments is better than average for gay adult video; the models are relaxed and poised and sincere. Standout performers include Steve, who flashes a pearly-toothed grin during sex; Walt Walters, as the Naval commander who puts Sergeant Sledge in his place by ordering him into a hot, energetic three-way; and well-endowed newcomer Sawyer, who at once embodies and lampoons the ideal Marine NCO. Dirk Yates, who has a special flair for showcasing military men, has seldom directed anything better. Viewers who enjoy Live by the Sword will want to seek out Yates's The Naked Sword and The Real Sword, forthcoming releases that complete a new Marine-porn trilogy.
