How to order
The title hints at a gay-porn tribute to Stanley Kubrick, but the script is an exercise in experimental psychotherapy. Buddy Buttwide (Zachery Scott) complains to his therapist that he's been fantasizing about "actual buttholes"
and "looking at my ass... other asses too!" The counselor proposes that his allegedly straight client tap into his gay potential, and calls in an assistant (Devin Knight) to launch Buttwide's voyage of self-discovery with an oral
workout. Buttwide soon divorces his wife and starts hanging out in gay bars, where new friends Joshua Scott and Jacob Ambers entertain him with stories of their sexual exploits. Eventually, with additional encouragement from his
friendly mental health professional, he's able to particpate in anal sex.
The gentleman who calls himself "Taliesin the Bard," who appears in a non-sexual role as the therapist, brings somewhat less facility to his authorship of the script than his 6th-century namesake brought to Welsh
poetry. Producer/director Sam Dixon is gaining directorial skill, but still can't quite pace a scene. He also has some unaccountable problems with transitions and emphases, flubbing the moment when, fucking Joshua Scott in tandem
with Gage Michaels, Mr. Buttwide achieves his first anal sex act.
Butt Wide Open is a nominally anal-themed video where the best sex-- the sex the camera truly savors-- is entirely oral.
