This is what they want, fear! If you allow yourself to be scared, then they have won. I'm not saying, go out and scream, "I'm from the US," but stop living because afraid of being hurt or killed, then they've won. Also, they aren't going to hit a little village, they want something big that will hurt several thousand, not 60 or 70 people. To them, that would be a waste of time. So don't be afraid to visit the village and enjoy yourself. Remember, it doesn't take an act of terrorism to cause death. Drunk drivers, or unsafe cars on the road, kills all the time and I'm sure you aren't afraid to drive to the local store, are you? So before cancelling your plans, think if you were the terrist, would this be a good place to kill or waste of time? Sports events, amusement parks are more to be hit than the small village.
