Forth Worth's flagship club
Stampede (621 Hemphill Street), anchors the well-developed community here. Stampede is headquarters for the popular "Gay Fest" the first weekend
in June as well as "Fests" for bears and two leather groups. Stampede's new vision also includes offering their ample outdoor space free to organizations as well as private parties. The
area in question is called the "north 40," and is over one acre of patio, including a stage where dinner theater will soon be staged. As well, there's a fireplace and BBQ pit where daily fare
is prepared. North 40 also affords a brilliant view of Ft. Worth's impressive downtown skyline; especially at night when the buildings are lit up Fort Worth is no "Cow Town" either, with its
own visit-worthy Museum district and the Sundance Square downtown retail and restaurant/bar scene. As Fort Worth's most popular watering hole, Stampede offers something nearly
every night. Starting out the week is a thriving Sunday T-Dance with a great house DJ. The last Monday of the month is always packed for the "Man of the Month" contest. Some of the
hotter contestants will be featured in Stampede's new full color 2007 benefit calendar coming out this summer.
Other fun bars in Fort Worth include Hot Shots (651 S. Jennings) and The Station (651 S. Jennings), just a minute walk from Stampede. A short drive away near the
gay-friendly Best Western (2000 Beach Street) are two other clubs:
Best Friends (2620 E. Lancaster) and
Changes (2637 E. Lancaster).
