Thanks to the thoughtful reader who sent the clip about high-tech doorstops employed in the halls of England's august Oxford University. It seems that fire codes (requiring that
certain doors remain closed) clash with new anti-sexual harassment dictates (which mandate that doors remain open whenever an instructor has office hours with a member of the opposite
sex). Oxford officials came up what they hoped would be a workable solution: radio-controlled doorstops designed to release when signaled that a fire has been reported. Problem is, they
simply don't work.
Dawn has an eminently more sensible solution: ban heterosexual student/teacher interactions all together! Dawn fears, however, that faux feminism has so poisoned our culture
that there are now too many male "ladies" to allow this traditional solution work. So, it appears that a few prudes are willing to subject all their fellow students to the risk of being incinerated
in order to better protect their chastity.
