Normally, medical advances sparing people
premature death would be welcomed. But some
Christians understand that God put microbes on the
Earth in order to punish those who rub their
naughty bits too much, or in the wrong place.
That explains conservative Christian
opposition to the newly developed vaccine for HPV
(human papilloma virus, the cause of genital and
anal warts) which can lead to various cancers in
those infected. Tony Perkins of the Family Research
Council (a group which does not
do research, but rather interprets the Bible for
public policy purposes) said he would not inoculate
his own daughter: "It sends the wrong message.
Our concern is that this vaccine will be marketed to
a segment of the population that should be getting
a message about abstinence."
That's telling her, Tony: if the bitch slips up,
let agonizing death be her reward. Pansy-assed talk
about love and compassion have no place when
addressing the evils of sex. Clearly.
