Thumbing through Toronto's Xtra newspaper Dawn is impressed both by a pro-sex editorial slant
plus the interest Canadian police show in controlling sexual expression (boys in blue shaking down patrons of bars and baths and theaters, smut-hungry customs censors foraging for
dirty pictures, dirt-- AKA, vice cops-- snooping out "public" sex, etc.). Also striking were the number of letter writers concerned that gay pride parades tolerated "bad taste" (i.e., sex) and that a
few naughty cocksuckers were giving respectable aficionados of fellatio a bad name. (While the US is obsessed with Jesus®, British Canada frets over matters of "taste.") Typical was Peter
Iveson's lament (commenting on police raids of a local gay nightspot) that "straight people do not have sex in straight bars, so why should gays want to have sex in gay bars?"
Peter. Darling. The answer to your question should be self-evident (much like the solution to "why do dogs lick their balls?"). Straight sexual mores aren't to be imitated, they're to be destroyed.
