Not a day goes by without news of somebody (usually with the help of a "therapist") learning to remember that they were sexually "abused" as a youth by someone who just happens to now be wealthy. Lawsuits are presented as means of psychic "closure" rather than the crass money grabs they really are.

Latest in this sad litany is Lee Ronnie Ogletree's attempt to shakedown the Boston Redsox baseball club for $3.15 million. Lee Ronnie's claim? That 30 years ago, when LR was 8 years old, Redsox manager Donald Fitzpatrick "lured" him into the clubhouse, watched him shower, and "performed oral sex on him." LR says Fitzpatrick got him a job with the team so as to have access to his wee willy, and that he continued working for his "abuser" for another 17 years! Indeed, LR even moved in with Fitzpatrick as an adult.

Recent advances by feminist thinkers have helped us understand that getting a blowjob is about the worst thing that can happen to a boy. Perhaps it was this new understanding that led to LR's belated lawsuit. Previously, he'd probably thought he'd liked the attention....
