The crime meriting years in prison and lifetime registration as a sexually dangerous person? A kiss.

Anyone doubting the insanity of prevailing sexual attitudes need only consider news from Lancaster, California. That area's Valley Press reports that Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department's Special Victims Bureau detectives set up an elaborate sting apparatus to ensnare a 61-year-old man who had been observed "making eye contact" with one of his 11-year-old nephew's classmates; when the target followed the lad to a school bathroom, the assault that followed resulted in a six-year prison term.
The crime meriting years in prison and lifetime registration as a sexually dangerous person? A kiss. Well, the kiss on the lips wasn't called a kiss; rather, it was termed "a felonious lewd act on a child."
Dawn was intrigued to note that the "victim" reports that he was paid $10 by the same man once before for an initial smooch, and $2 more for a follow-up. It was not clear from press reports if it was the man's apparent stinginess that provoked resentment in the pupil cum hustler. Nor was it clear if prostitution charges were to be brought against the 11-year-old who brazenly peddles his (evidently fickle) affections.
