Dawn Ivory
Dawn considers it rude to take an active interest in what fellow air passengers are doing in their own seats during flight. It would not cross Dawn's mind, for example, to complain to a flight attendant that 26A and 26B
were canoodling under their blanket during the movie. But evidently, some passengers aboard Southwest's Los Angeles-to-Raleigh flight last September felt differently and ratted out an amorous couple.
According to the criminal complaint issued against Carl Persing and Dawn Sewell, they were "embracing, kissing and acting in a manner that made other passengers uncomfortable." Instead of asking those "other
passengers" to mind their own business, the airline called in
the feds. The FBI met the plane in Raleigh and arrested the pair. Charges against girlfriend were dropped, but Carl was convicted and faces 20 years in prison for "interfering
with a flight crew."
Today, the price of freedom is such eternal vigilance....
