Augsburg Publishers is touting their latest release with the teaser, "discover what two old bishops are saying about sex."
The book is Sexual Fulfillment for Single and Married, Straight and Gay, Young and
Old. The old bishops are Herbert Chilstrom and Lowell Erdahl. And again and again what they say about sex is: "don't!"
The old bishops posture as compassionate "liberals" freed from old-fashioned modes of thought... but, of course, they're far too self-congratulatory. They don't understand the good news of gay liberation: rules that
purport to assign your fundamental moral worth based on where and with whom you rub your pecker are themselves immoral and destructive. Instead, they argue gay people can be tolerated as long as they conform to sexually
exclusive, monogamous "marriages."
The old bishops' one advance over their even more antediluvian brethren, from what Dawn has read, is that they advocate masturbation (quaintly termed "self-pleasuring") in situations wherein one is tempted to
"pleasure" with someone not ones wife/ husband/ "lifecompanion."
