Condom Use Must Tripleto Curb AIDS

View our poll archive
A new report issued by the Johns Hopkins School of Public Health, titled "Closing the Gap," asserts that condom use should rise from the current 6 billion to 9 billion condoms a year to 24 billion in order to stem the spread of sexually transmitted diseases, including HIV. With 333 million people newly infected with STDs each year, condom use may be one of the most effective methods of prevention. Experts at Johns Hopkins recommend making condoms more accessible, lowering their cost, and advertising them more, in order to encourage their use.
