According to the 2005 Global Sex Survey by condom maker Durex, Canadians engage in sex on average 108 times a year, compared to the global norm of 103 times. The ninth annual survey, the largest sexual health research project of its kind, solicited on-line responses from
more than 317,000 people from 41 countries; no margin of error was available.
The study found that 49 percent of 2,179 Canadians surveyed admitted to having unprotected sex without knowing their partner's sexual history. More than half said they have had a "one-night stand" versus the global average of 44 percent. Twelve percent reported
having had a sexually transmitted infection.
