Despite some local declines, the number of US citizens (now sort of
ex-citizens) in jail, on parole, or on probation reached record levels last year. Six and a half million people, one out of every 32 adults, is currently
classified as "criminal," by far the highest rate in the world.
The most criminal states were Georgia, Texas, and Idaho (the death penalty belt and home to Aryan Nation...).
Imagine the numbers we could get to if mandatory drug laws applied to coke-sniffing millionaire children of former Presidents (who themselves then managed to void a national election and install themselves
as president)....
