Despite its excruciating music track and wobbly production style, this down-and-dirty romp is one of the best recent gay adult videos showcasing black performers.
It begins at a sidewalk cafe on a busy downtown street where Bobby Blake is having lunch with his hulking, formidable lover, Deon Blake. From the next table, a
cute Mexican (Emilio Sands) tells Blake he's been admiring his work for the past two years. Gratified to meet a fan, Blake offers to "take your sweet ass back to my
place and fuck you down." The Blakes do precisely that-- but not before Bobby hauls out his dick on the spot, with cars whizzing past, and treats Sands to a preview.
The three-way with Sands is relaxed but hot. The thermostat gets turned up a notch when the Blakes enjoy asession of "tag team" sex with another couple,
Ken Taylor and Mocha. There's also a not-bad poolside encounter between fuck buddies Ace and Bob Cat, and a delectable episode between Mocha and the
impossibly gorgeous Flex Gamble, who seems made of flawless chiseled mahogany.
But the real star here is Bobby Blake, whose looks place him somewhere between Nubian royalty and an R. Crumb cartoon. His wry, expressive face tops off a
body made in erotica heaven. A talented actor whose
forte is sexual put-on, Blake can improvise dirty verbal riffs that almost amount to a new form of porno-scat rap.
("You sound like you got shit in your mouth!" Mocha tells him at one point.) The one disappointment in
Black Power is that Gamble and Mocha's post-coital phone
conversation with Blake may leave you longing for a Gamble/Blake scene just as you see the words "The End."
