Speak Free... and Resign
By Dawn Ivory

View our poll archive
While Dawn doesn't actually advocate killing cops, the sentiment is all-too-easy to appreciate given routine police abuse that mayors and other politicians regularly ignore-- or endorse. So when newly elected New Hampshire state representative Tom Alciere owned up to penning anti-police screeds on the web, Dawn took note.

"There is nothing wrong with slaughtering a cop. Just throw the carcass into the Dumpster with the rest of the garbage. Cops are nothing but vicious, brutal thugs anyway," Alciere admits to having written.

Even in the "Live Free Or Die" state, such speech is not allowed, of course, and Alciere was forced to resign (and forever watch his back).

Too bad; who else will sponsor Alciere's bills to legalize drugs (a move that would save countless police-- and other-- lives) and ban involuntary commitments to mental "hospitals"?
